Visiting the Museum

The Health Museum currently serves more than 180,000 visitors annually, including more than 40,000 schoolchildren in organized field trips. Since our grand opening more than ten years ago, we have seen more than 1.5 million visitors and counting. The Health Museum is the most visited health museum of its kind in the country and one of the top public attractions in the Houston area.

Hours of Operation (January - May 2008)
Tuesday-Wednesday   9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday                   9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday & Saturday       9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday                      12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Museum Holidays
Closed on Mondays during the Spring, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Non-member, Adult..............................$6.00
Non-member, Child (ages 3 - 17)..........$5.00

PARKING
Visitors are welcome to park on the surface lot at The Health Museum for the follwing rates
The Health Museum Visitors.........$3.00 (please pay upon admission to the Museum)
General Public.............................$7.00

Parking meters are available along LaBranch, Ewing and Hermann Drive.


FREE FAMILY THURSDAY HOURS
Free General Admission on Thursdays from 2 to 7 p.m., courtesy of BlueCross BlueShield.  

There is an admission charge for special exhibits during these hours.  The price for Genome: The Secret of How Life Works is $2.00 per person.
 
FUN FACT:
While the adult skeleton contains 206 bones, the skeleton of an infant contains 350 (the bones fuse together as you grow). And more than half of your 206 bones are found in your hands and feet!
